Water main break closes lower Peel
Lower Peel Street has been closed by a water main break this morning as the cold snap continues and record amounts of electrical current are consumed, but expecting us to turn down the heat and avoid using hot water this morning is moderately unrealistic. Even the police are being more tolerant of itinerants warming up in the metro (noting that the Gazette is now calling it the "métro" and wondering how long before it falls into politically correct line and starts spelling the city "Montréal" even in direct mention in English text) and the CAA has restarted a record number of stalled vehicles.
